If you are looking for a warm water destination a little closer to home, look no further!

The Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, with Malta 93km south of Sicily and 288km north of Africa. The archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino.

Travellers can choose between scheduled services or charter flights, many of which offer a convenient departure point from the UK. Furthermore, visitors can choose from a wide range of hotels: from those situated in the heart of the busy towns in central Malta to the more isolated resorts in the north-western part of the island.

Just a short flight from the UK, the beautiful islands of Malta are easily accessible for long weekend diving breaks as well a week long holidays.

The eclectic culture, narrow meandering streets, distinctive architecture and breathtaking coastlines make Malta an enchanting place to explore even above the water and it is the perfect destination for both divers and non divers alike.

Diving...

Malta is considered to be the best diving in the Mediterranean and is surrounded by clear, calm waters just waiting to be explored. Sea temperatures average around 23ºC in summer and drop down to around 13ºC to 15ºC in winter.

Malta and Gozo are best known for good wreck diving; however there are also numerous reef dives to be done. Below are some of the more popular dive sites:

- Wreck Rozi and the reef in Cirkewwa
- Wreck P29 and the Holy Mary in Cirkewwa
- Um El Farud and the reef in Zurrieq
- Alexander's Cave and the P31 wreck in Comino

Malta is suitable for divers of all experience levels and with good visibility and very little underwater current; it is perfect for diver training.

So, if you are looking for a nearby destination with warm waters and a vast range of dive sites to suit all, Malta should be top of your list!
